Back to School, Back to Basics

Another summer has flown by, which means it is time to start turning our attention to back to school. If you have kids, this is a big deal, obviously. And if you don’t, it’s still a good time to get back to basics as far as your home’s HVAC system is concerned. Your air conditioner still has some work to do before the change of the seasons, so keeping up with regular maintenance is wise. It will detect any small problems before they get bigger and will help your system run smoothly and efficiently.

HVAC Tune-Up

It’s been a tough summer and your AC is likely in need of some attention. When you schedule a tune-up with one of our technicians, they will check out your system’s refrigerant levels, inspect the coils (both inside and out), check the air filters, and also ensure your system’s thermostat is operating properly. They can also check your ductwork for costly leaks.

HVAC Replacement

If your system is old and breaks down frequently, an AC or HVAC system replacement could be the answer. Also, older systems are charged with R-22 refrigerant, which the EPA has banned, effective Jan. 1, 2020. This will make recharging or repairing systems that use R-22 difficult and eventually impossible. If your system uses R-22, replacement is definitely an option.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Have you had your home’s indoor air quality checked? If not, don’t wait any longer. We can perform an analysis of your IAQ and can help you determine how to improve it. This is especially important as the kids head to school and are exposed to germs and other airborne contaminants. While an air purification product from Trane or Aprilaire may be a solution for your IAQ issues, it always helps to keep your air filters changed regularly.
