• Verify current standing with the Better Business Bureau & check complaint file
• Do they follow National Comfort Institute (NCI) standards

Once you establish a contractor meets your qualifications, then the decision becomes more personal. This is a big decision and you must feel comfortable with the company and the people they employ. Here is a brief checklist of what a contractor should do for you:

• Listen to your concerns and care about you
• Concerned about protecting the environment
• Determine if your home or building has indoor air quality problems
• Show you how to take care of your system
• Offer a program of planned preventive maintenance
• Follow up to assure satisfaction with the service and/or new system
